Naples Florida Private Golf Club Communities and Developments

The Naples - Fort Myers Florida area features well over 100 golf courses and golf clubs. The majority of the golf clubs in the Naples area are private with a wide range of initiation fees and dues for maintaining membership.

Traditional Equity Country Club
Traditional country clubs usually charge a one-time initiation fee that in many cases provides an equity stake in the club. That is, upon resigning from the club, the departing member would receive a portion of their initiation fee. Typically it is a set portion of the existing initiaion but in cases of very popular clubs, it could be more than the member paid initially. Once the initiation fee is paid there are dues payable on an annual, quarterly or monthly basis and there can be additional fees in the way of minimum food and beverage usage. A full golf membership generally includes full use of the dining, pool, tennis and fitness facilities plus use of the golf course on a year-round basis without greens fees.

Many clubs offer a social membership, which entitles the member to full use of the dining, pool, tennis and fitness facilities, and use of the golf course from May thru October, for a small greens fee or cart fee. There may be limited use of the course during season.

As the economic environment has soured, many clubs are offering annual memberships for individuals, couples, families and corporate entities. These generally range from a low of $600 to over $10,000 per year.

From May thru October, most of the private clubs participate in reciprocal agreements that allow members to play and dine at a selected list of other private clubs in the area, thereby allowing their members to experience a wide variety of courses in the area. This is a great benefit for social members who live here year around.
